<3 The 74TH Annual Hunger Games! :) <3

Yeah right! It’s already the 74th year of the annual Hunger Games held in the country of Panem.

Were each and every year they need to pick 2 representatives between the ages of 12-18 in every districts of Panem, this process of picking 2 tributes in every district is called “THE REAPING”.

There are 13 districts but, district 13 had already vanished during the Dark Days of Panem, that’s why it is now turned into 12 districts, which means there are 24 tributes to compete for the Hunger Games inside an arena for 2 weeks fighting for their lives to live, to have something to eat and drink and shelter them during those cold nights in the arena, and most especially to kill one another until one will stand still and remain and be crown as the Victor of the annual Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games is a trilogy novel which was written by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games trilogy includes the book:

  •       Hunger Games
  •       Catching Fire
  •       Mocking Jay

And this year, 2012, marks the year were the 1st installment of the trilogy will be shown in motion picture produced by Lions Gate, a production and motion picture company in the United States.

After the auditions for the cast who will portray for each role in the said novel the casting has finally done.

In the 1st book the significant characters are:

  •       Katniss Everdeen
  •       Peeta Mellark
  •       Gale Hawthorne
  •       Primrose Everdeen
  •       Effie Trinket
  •       Haymitch Habernathy
  •       Cinna
  •       Rue
  •       Cato

The role of the major characters was auditioned and get by the young and admirable actors of their generation.

  •       Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen – A 16 year-old young lady who volunteered herself at The Reaping of the 74th Hunger Games, for her younger  sister, Primrose Everdeen, played by Willow Shields.
  •       Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark – the boy tribute who’s been picked by Effie Trinket during The Reaping of the 74th Hunger Games, also called as the “Boy with the Bread” by Katniss Everdeen.
  •       Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne – A 18 year-old boy, who’s fallen in love with her hunting partner and best friend Katniss Everdeen.
  •       Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Habernathy – the mentor of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in the 74th Hunger Games. He is also the 1st Victor from district 12.
  •       Alexander Ludwig as Cato – the career-tribute from district 2. And the last tribute that had a battle for survival with Katniss EVerdeen and Peeta Mellark at the 74th Hunger Games.
  •        Willow Shields as Primrose Everdeen – A 12 year-old girl, and the sister of Katniss Everdeen and the name that Effie Trinket picked during The Reaping of the 74th Hunger Games.
  •        Amandla Stenberg as Rue – the girl tribute from district 11 who became ally with Katniss Everdeen during the 74th Hunger Games and was speared in her stomach that causes her death during the game.

When I’ve watched the movie it was really great! Especially the part where the 24 tributes had their parade in their chariots in the circle of the Capitol in Panem. It was really grandioso and also every tributes costume is all grandioso, avant-garde, and beautiful which has the details of the district they representing of. But of course the part that I love is the entrance of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark of district 12 were they wear an all tight black suit and a fire on their back while holding each other’s hands, Designed by the assigned designer for district 12 and also a new designer in the Hunger Games, Cinna, whom also became a close friend and a confidant for Katniss Everdeen during her preparation, training, and interview for the upcoming Hunger Games. And of course! I love the part when they are all in the arena making their way to fight for their lives, to fight and kill each other. But the twist and highlight of the story is during the night of the interview before the exact Hunger Games begin, Peeta Mellark admits and confessed his love for Katniss Everdeen, that’s the reason why they’re being called as the “STAR-CROSSED LOVERS” from district 12.( And of course! I also love that part!) But the biggest twist of the movie is when Claudius Templesmith announced that there can be 2 victors, but they need to come from one district, Katniss Everdeen start finding Peeta Mellark for them to become allies during the Hunger Games, so that they can win and both of them will be victors and go to their home in district 12 alive. And the most heart-breaking part of the story is when Rue the 12 year-old girl from district 11 who became ally with Katniss Everdeen dies. And it also even made me cry.

I really love this movie! And it’s a highly recommended movie to watch! For those who haven’t watch and seen it yet. It’s a must see movie! And even I read in a news paper article that it is THE MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIE OF THE YEAR! And it really has been proved! That even the Harry Potter series and Twilighters or The Twilight Saga fans had been watched the movie! And in an internet article I’ve read that The Hunger Games even surpass the combined powers and income of the 4 Twilight Saga movies, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 and part 2! And it’s the first and only Lions Gate’s movie that got the highest grosser film in all time in the history! That was such a really, really, very, very, big, big hit! For this movie! That’s why after the filming has been finished, the author of the novel Suzanne Collins watch it, she even cried a lot, tears rushes down her cheeks, because of the happiness and satisfaction that she doesn’t ever imagine that the novel that she made was really a very, very, big, big hit! and can be filmed and turned into a beautiful, wonderful, incredible, and grandioso motion picture!
